Good shit. Online classes are the way to go if you' want to take a class, imo.bns212 wrote:Yeah my thinking was: develop a solid understanding, use the course for tricks/extra push, but I do think it makes sense to learn the techniques beforehand. Someone pointed me to the online course, so I'll be taking that instead..blackmamba8 wrote:I'm not sure you'd need the class if it's not available until March and you're self-studying Dec-Feb. That should be plenty of time to develop a solid understanding of the test and start drilling/PTing.bns212 wrote:Just decided to apply to law school two weeks ago, so I know way less than everyone here, but I am super amped to do well on this test. I need to get in the high 170s, though, and I'm hoping I can do it in six months, on my first shot. Else, I'll have to take the test in October and I don't want to get my application in late.
I don't have much of a plan right now except to self-study from Dec-Feb (study materials, tests, etc) and then consider blueprint help from march to June. I'd take their classes earlier but they're only available in March. Thoughts?

Cool, thank you.dj9i27 wrote:It probably won't be released until the turn of the year; anything other than that is probably speculation. Re: The Official June 2017 Study Group
I feel the urge to share my background, so I figured I'd post here.
Took the test in June of 2016 after studying for a year, and scored in the 1671-171 range, a 23 point improvement from my diagnostic. I then sat in September because my PTs had been higher, and I actually went down a point. I was going to call it quits since I had a large improvement and had studied so much already.
However, I've been waitlisted at two of my top choices, so I'm sitting in June with the hopes of crushing this take. I'm going to be retaking every released PT.
If anyone is just starting out and is intimated by the process, feel free to reach out to me.

Checking in! I lurk on the forums here all the time so it's nice to actively participate in one sometimes. Started studying about 2 months ago but haven't made as much progress as I'd like, mainly cuz of school and work. I'm just tired of studying the basics; can't wait to get to really drilling sections and pts. Oh also my cold diag. was 149, which is terrible, but I'm gonna aim for a 180 regardless.

Yeah I saw that all over TLS, but figured I might as well.dj9i27 wrote:Cold diagnostics are not a good barometer of the test imo, it is like taking a calculus test before learning calculus. Won't it just? I originally chose it because it almost perfectly mirrors my actual facial expression 90% of the time, but looks like I have another reason to keep it.dj9i27 wrote:Your avatar is going to come into extreme relevance when the waiters thread comes.ThatOneAfrican wrote:Yeah I saw that all over TLS, but figured I might as well.dj9i27 wrote:Cold diagnostics are not a good barometer of the test imo, it is like taking a calculus test before learning calculus. Anyone use non-LSAT material for RC and find it to be helpful? My science background is basically nonexistent so I think familiarizing myself with some concepts might be useful.

I think science-for-the-general-public books would be useful. Not like total pop science but not full-on scientific papers. I had some out when I was studying and they read a lot like RC passages (more so than news articles and things like that imo.)blackmamba8 wrote:Anyone use non-LSAT material for RC and find it to be helpful? I told this girl I know who is taking the June LSAT not to take a Kaplan course... Saw on snapchat this morning that she's signing up for a $1400 Kaplan course. Can't save them all I guess.
