Re: Harvard Student(s) Answering Your Questions
Hello, rising 2L here. I've got two questions about courses and would appreciate if anyone can help out.
1. How is the grading for classes that are jointly listed in HKS and HLS, and taught by a HKS prof? Generally harder/easier? Do they just give you H/P/LP?
2. I'm signed up for 14th A with Minow. I've seen on toodope/this thread that it's disorganized/discussion based but generally worth taking. Any thoughts from ppl who have recently taken it? What's the workload? Is it hard to do well due to gunners? Thanks.

I am going to be living in Gropius, and would like to eat out (cheaply) for as many dinners monday-friday as I can. What would be some decent locales within 15 minutes walking from Gropius where I could fill myself up for less than $15?
Also, can I plan on getting free lunch most days Monday through Friday? Thanks.

Cambridge Common and Border Cafe are a couple good ones.Igloo2022 wrote:I am going to be living in Gropius, and would like to eat out (cheaply) for as many dinners monday-friday as I can. Hey does the healthcare charges on the Cost of Attendance page account for the 12-month year, or the 9-month schoolyear? Thanks!

The amount listed on the coa page covers you for the 12 month year.Igloo2022 wrote:Hey does the healthcare charges on the Cost of Attendance page account for the 12-month year, or the 9-month schoolyear? Thanks!

Re: Harvard Student(s) Answering Your Questions
I'm a rising 1L, and I just stumbled upon the JD/LLM program. I'd love to do that, if it wouldn't sabotage my career. Do any of you current students know if people are successful getting biglaw and/or clerkships after the JD/LLM? Does the extra semester and December end date make hiring difficult?
Also, is this program very selective? I see that only six people go, but I haven't seen data about how many apply. Thank you!

It’s not very competitive. Also consider just studying abroad for a semester.Igloo2022 wrote:I'm a rising 1L, and I just stumbled upon the JD/LLM program. Thanks for the info! And yeah, semester abroad does seem more convenient.Dcc617 wrote:It’s not very competitive. Ok this is probably a stupid question, but is there class of December 2, right after Thanksgiving? It says "Classes end", but I've forgotten if that means there's actually class on the Monday or not.

Last year they were out by early August (at least Sears), so I imagine people were notified already.JFrench wrote:Anyone know when Sears/Morgan Chu prizes come out?

How lengthy are weekly journals for J-term Negotiation Workshop?
I recall full semester is like 5-6 pages per week - already excessive.

How does 2L grade release work? Do they trickle in, or are they held until a certain date?

Anyone have Stephenson for LegReg / know how he values writing quality in his take-home final? I didn't spellcheck and had a number of mistakes in the essay I submitted. Nothing extreme, but probably one (or two) mistakes per paragraph, and I'm nervous that that might condemn me to an LP.

Re: Harvard Student(s) Answering Your Questions
I don’t know the answer as I have spared myself from admin thus far, but I feel like that’d be a huge dick move when professors give out DSs (and especially Hs) to exams with several grammatical/spelling errors all the time. On another note, does anyone know how unpleasant Vermuele’s admin exam usually is?Veil of Ignorance wrote:Anyone have Stephenson for LegReg / know how he values writing quality in his take-home final? Also, is this new grades release just pushing everyone that did not do evals back a week, or are we actually get them early?april_ludgate wrote:How does 2L grade release work? Do they trickle in, or are they held until a certain date?

All fall term grades are released at the same time (typically sometime during the first week of spring semester; not clear if the new course evaluations thing will change that but probably not).april_ludgate wrote:How does 2L grade release work? OK so that’s a scam then, we aren’t getting them early; everyone else is just getting them late lol. Re: Harvard Student(s) Answering Your Questions
I don't have any insider info, I literally just made a guess based on Classic Lisa, yes, and also the fact that professors aren't going to want to turn grades in far earlier than they have been doing for years. But who knows!Libya wrote:OK so that’s a scam then, we aren’t getting them early; everyone else is just getting them late lol.
