I love how this cycle has really just started and I'm already feeling screwed. I've probably sent dozens of applications out and had one interview with a V20 in NY (ended with a ding) and probably a dozen dings, but now feel like I'm running out of places. Granted, I'm in a flyover district with mid grades targeting NYC but here I thought summering for a V10 and a T14 degree could save me.

Any ideas what to do? Or should I just wait to hear back from more places?

Is it too late to apply for DC, Chicago, and NYC (lit boutiques)? I haven't submitted any applications yet

Thoughts on leveraging an interview with one firm to get interviews at others? I got a screener interview with a top big law firm in a major market, but I’m still waiting to hear back from other firms, including boutiques. Is it a good idea to let these other firms know about my interview in an attempt to get interview offers, or is that not a thing? What would be the best way to do so?

I don't have any insight into lit boutiques. But my personal take is that it's never too late - if you don't apply, you definitely won't get hired. It's not like the applications are so difficult/time-consuming that there's any real downside to sending in an application. And hiring outside of OCI doesn't really have clear, cut-and-dried deadlines. Sure, it's possible that some boutiques have hired everyone they expect to need for the fall, but you never know when someone leaves a particular firm or they get extra work in whatever practice group that changes their needs.

Even if you applied 3 days before your clerkship ends, no one is going to look at an application and say, "what is this fool doing - we finished hiring LONG ago." They'll just either have an opening or they won't.

Current east coast COA clerk. The cycle, at least in NYC, seems to have picked up steam in the last few weeks since the new year. Offers at PW, K&E, and Kaplan Hecker; dings at Susman, Cravath, & Holwell Shuster.

Williams & Connolly has started interviewing.
Williams & Connolly has also begun sending out post-interview rejections.
For those who’ve applied to Williams & Connolly, what’s been the timeline from application to interviews to offer/rejection?
I received an interview about 1 week after applying and then received a rejection about 1 week after the interview.
Sorry to hear about the rejection.
I have an interview with them.
Any landmines candidates should avoid that you’re willing to share?

I've applied very broadly in NYC over the last two months, but haven't heard much beyond a handful of rejections. Should I just assume I'm toast and look elsewhere? Or have some firms not started looking yet?

Have done a few callbacks recently and have screeners scheduled but haven’t heard much yet. Would be interested to hear of any offers from firms in LA

Has anyone heard back from quinn emanuel yet? I submitted my app via email in early Dec. and no response yet, not even a confirmation of receipt
I applied there early too. Never received a word back either.

In case this is helpful for anyone, I have received rejections from the following NY firms: Cravath, Sidley Austin, Paul Weiss, Goodwin, and Jenner & Block.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
