Any movement from the above (Carson, Eid, Tymkovich, McHugh, Phillips, Rossman)? All opened this semester but none marked as full.

Can anyone provide further insight into work in Matheson's chambers? Is it really 6.5 days/ week?

Does Rossman only hire people with connections to the Tenth Circuit? Her OSCAR application asks applicants to specify in their cover letters why they're particularly interested in clerking on the Tenth Circuit, and I have no good reason, lol.

Rossman filled for 2022. She sent an email already to applicants.

Rossman’s new post explicitly requires a personalized cover letter addressing specific topics, and wants writing samples to be unedited, non-academic, and accompanied with a statement of permission to use the work. Even if I wasn’t lazy I don’t think I’d like to work for a judge who’s so uptight.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 3:01 pmDoes Rossman only hire people with connections to the Tenth Circuit? It also looks like she’s at least partially off-plan, which is very unusual for a liberal.

She prefers a prior clerkship, so seems like one of the (significant number of) liberal COA judges who mostly hire former district court clerks.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Feb 08, 2022 9:23 pmRossman’s new post explicitly requires a personalized cover letter addressing specific topics, and wants writing samples to be unedited, non-academic, and accompanied with a statement of permission to use the work. Also there are lots of judges who have lots of requirements in their apps but are known for being good mentors/bosses (Stranch on the 6th comes to mind) - but yes I'm very curious what she's like.

"Uptight" because she wants to know why an applicant wants to clerk on the Tenth Circuit... sheesh....Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Feb 08, 2022 9:23 pmRossman’s new post explicitly requires a personalized cover letter addressing specific topics, and wants writing samples to be unedited, non-academic, and accompanied with a statement of permission to use the work. That would be normal, having a long list of directions for cover letters that require you to essentially draft an entirely unique one is unusual (though I know Carney on CA2 does it as well)Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Feb 09, 2022 12:18 am"Uptight" because she wants to know why an applicant wants to clerk on the Tenth Circuit... sheesh....Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Feb 08, 2022 9:23 pmRossman’s new post explicitly requires a personalized cover letter addressing specific topics, and wants writing samples to be unedited, non-academic, and accompanied with a statement of permission to use the work. Unsure if she's hired for all positions for 2023 but definitely has for one
