I heard that someone from my school recently interviewed with Matheson. Is Gorsuch done yet?

Does anyone have any info on Matheson? As a recent add to the 10th, my school has limited info on him as a boss, mentor, etc.

Happy to PM someone (non-anonymously, of course).

I know that he's interviewing as of two weeks ago. I don't know how many slots are open/closed.

Kelly email came just before noon today. Simple one liner saying he was done for 2015-16.

All of these postings about done are for 15-16, correct? Not 16-17?

Yep, this was 2015-2016. As far as I know, no CA10 judges are looking for 2016-2017 yet.

Does anyone have any information about the hiring practices of the recent Obama appointees: Judges Bacharach, Phillips, McHugh, or Moritz. I know the last two haven't been on the court for very long, so there's probably little data.

I'm mainly wondering if anyone knows how much these judges care about ties to the particular state in which they sit. I'm an HYS grad with a district clerkship on one of the coasts, but I'm from a state in the 10th and want to return home, and would really like to clerk on the 10th in a couple of years.

Thanks!

Based on interview requests, Phillips does not seem to require ties to his state (Wyoming) but I can't see it ever being a negative if you have said ties. Don't know about the others.

Since OSCAR is down right now, can someone help me out? I remember that Gorsuch requires two writing samples, but I can't remember what they're supposed to be. Is it one law-related, one not? Or one practice-oriented, one not? Thanks in advance.
